ROSSO is based on visual balance and passion for duality. The colour red has a rich and fascinating history through the time. As far as back Palaeolithic, around 35.000 years ago, human beings were already using red pigments obtained from clays and different types of soil.
In the Neolithic period, where arts such as ceramic has arise, garance grass began to be used to produce a red pigment from its roots. In the ancient China, red was a symbol of life and fortune, which is why many temples were painted in this colour.
In Europe red gained prominence with the arrival of Arab alchemists in the 4th century BC and became an importante colour during the Renaissance. In the 17th century, French King Louis XIV established red as the colour of nobility, using it in clothing, footwear and palace decorations. During French Revolution, red was adopted as the colour of insurrection Throughout history, red has proved to be a versatile colour that can combine its opposites.
